Critical Thinking for Assistants

Wednesday 22nd March 2017 | 19:00 – 20:00

Trainer: Victoria Darragh, Founder of EPAA

Learning Outline:

Critical thinking relates to how we make decisions/use our judgment and the action we take in doing so. Critical thinking assists in providing you with the skills to analyse and evaluate information, in order for you to make the best and correct, minimising negative impacts, should a mistake occur.

CT is a key skill for any senior level Assistant and will ensure you become a more rational and disciplined thinker, while underpinning the strategic objectives of your executives.

We will assist you to evaluate, identify, and distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information which in turn will lead to a more productive working life.

Learning outline:

Are you an EA/PA who is looking to progress the next stage of your career and move to the C-suite? Or perhaps you have recently landed your dream role at this level and are looking for some useful tips on ensuring a smooth and successful transition?

Many Assistants find themselves stilted or perhaps hitting a plateau, having outgrown your current role and level of support. Others have known for years they are ready but simply lacked the confidence to make the move! Small and large organisations alike are sometimes not able to offer the progression, for you to support at a higher level. It can be difficult but not impossible to make the move – if you prepare and know how to sell yourself and your talent to the C-Suite.

Join Victoria on this highly practical webinar, which will talk through the possible steps you can take, as well as helping you develop credibility and brand in order to present yourself as a C-suite EA.

Workplace Bullying: what it is and what you can do

Thursday 27th April 2017 | 12:00 – 13:00

Trainer: Jo Brown, Dignity Works

Learning outline:

Bullying and burnout is affecting many EAs and PAs across all sectors. Last year Executive Secretary Magazine ran a survey (with EPAA and Be the Ultimate Assistant) and found that just under 60% of PAs have experienced bullying and more than half of those who responded had been bullied more than three times during their career.

This session will look at what bullying is, how to spot it if its happening to you or in your organisation and the various ways you can deal with it informally and formally. We will also discuss what options are available, if you feel it is not safe to speak out or your company ignore you if you do.

There will be a Q&A session to finish and Jo will be available afterwards for any questions you do not wish to ask publicly.
